What is PVD? Physical Vapour Deposition - this is a high end coating process in which a layer of 18k Gold is applied using a vacuum coating technique, creating a beautiful finish to a base metal. Stainless Steel is the most hypoallergenic base metal for jewellery.
PVD 18k Gold plating is 2 microns thick, making it extremely durable and long lasting, where as standard 14k or 18k gold plating is usually less than 0.5 microns.
